OUR PROYECT

It is very important to cancel the paternalistic relationship created between government and indigenous population.

Social changes are leading to the fast growth of urban areas and the desintegration of rural and indigenous zones.
The indigenous population moves to the cities populating the peripheral neighborhoods of the main urban centers, never integrating into the urban mainstream. Whole families cluster in these marginal urban settlements while rural areas are deserted and indigenous traditions disappear.

Unemployment rises in the cities and the new indigenous urban groups live excluded and humiliated by the urban population; throughout this process they create their own ideology based on the clash of their underprivileged urban conditions and their rural-indigenous culture.
This situation demands the attention of authorities, ONG´S and citizens, through development programs. It is necessary to introduce changes in the indigenous communities to lower poverty levels. It is very important to cancel the paternalistic relationship created between government and indigenous population.

The conflicts existing in the indigenous cultures cannot be ignored; they affect all that is around these communities. There are distortions in their family structure, in their work, social and cultural environments. These lead to the development of existential voids which come from the loss of identity and of personal dignity, as well as the daily experience of discrimination (racial, economical, etc.)

This is a terrible problem in which man becomes his own worst enemy, resulting in violence and power abuse.
